Here’s one reason not to vote that we’ve all heard: “All politicians are the same. It doesn’t matter who gets in, because nothing ever changes.”

This couldn’t be further from the truth.

For the first time in Albert’s history, women are leading two of the major political parties. It seems nearly certain that, after April 23, Alberta will have a female premier and a female leader of the opposition. Regardless of how you feel about their policies, this has to be seen as a step forward for women — two steps forward, in fact.

But what can we make of the unfortunate Twitter post from a volunteer in the Alison Redford PC campaign that came to light on March 20th?

Now that the Alberta election has been called for April 23rd, it's time to start firing up your excuses NOT to vote. We're here to counter every one of those arguments, beginning with this time-honored classic: "Well, it really doesn't matter how I vote, because my one single vote won't make a difference."
